Years ago, it was a common practice to have twins sleeping together in the same crib. Nowadays, however, we understand that not only is this not the best practice for a restful night’s sleep for you or your babies, but it can be downright dangerous for them.
When a baby starts sleeping in a crib, they shouldn’t have anything in there with them. No blankets, no pillows, no stuffed animals, and definitely not another baby.
Each of these items poses a significant suffocation risk to young babies. Even if you think your kids will sleep better together (I know, I know, they shared the womb and might miss each other), don’t give into the temptation to put them together in their bed. It is simply not worth the risk.

Alright, now that we’ve established that you need to get two cribs for your twins, what exactly should you look for? Well, I’m glad you asked because there is actually quite a bit to keep in mind when you are out crib shopping.
Crib Size – Unless your house and, therefore, your nursery is gigantic, you’ll want to shoot for a smaller crib size since you need to get two of them.
If you get a set of cribs that are overly larger, you’ll find that you won’t have enough room for anything else in the nursery. Smaller size cribs are also easier for you to move around the room to help keep your little ones separated during nap-time.
